How we make it
Machines gather and draft each issue. A human edits it. These are the steps, and the rules every issue follows.
Three steps, every week
Machines gather
Scripts collect the week’s candidate stories from Hacker News, Hugging Face papers, GitHub, AI lab blogs, and links the editor saves during the week, posts on X among them. Paper details come from arXiv. The videos in Watch are YouTube videos those sources link to.
Claude drafts
Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, reads the actual sources, such as the paper, the repository or the announcement, and writes a first draft: plain words first, then, where it helps, a note for builders.
A human edits
Anything Claude can’t trace to a source is flagged, and an issue can’t be published until the editor has fixed, sourced or cut every flag. The editor then cuts, reorders and adds a take where it helps.
Every claim is sourced
Every claim is sourced and linked. Each story links its sources, so you can read the original and judge for yourself.
Images
We only use images we’re allowed to use: official images from the company, lab or project (including GitHub and Hugging Face cards); thumbnails of the YouTube videos we link; images inside X posts, shown as credited post cards; open-licensed images (Wikimedia Commons, Unsplash) with the author credited; images we’ve paid to license; and our own illustrations. Never news-agency or publisher photos. Every image in an issue is credited and links to where it came from.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, tell us at hello@latentweekly.com. Include a link to the story and what’s wrong. We check every report against the sources and fix the story on the site.
